The Lowdown

Postmark does not want your marketing newsletter. They want your "Password Reset" and "Order Confirmation" emails. By separating these "Transactional" emails from marketing spam, they achieve near-perfect deliverability speeds. Recently acquired by ActiveCampaign.

The Good

• Speed: Emails arrive in seconds, not minutes.
• Templates: They have pre-coded, compatible templates for things like receipts and welcome emails.
• Retention: They keep 45 days of full content logs so you can debug exactly what happened.

The Bad

• No Marketing: They have a "Broadcast" stream now, but it's not a full marketing suite.

Verdict

If you are building an app, use Postmark for the system emails. Use something else for the newsletter.
