This is a niche feature, but if Reddit is part of your distribution stack, it is hard to find this elsewhere in a single platform.

Projects fit people juggling multiple work streams. Each project gets isolated chat history, uploaded files, custom instructions, and persistent memory. We ran Okara AI on the free tier with 2,000 credits from March 1 to April 10, 2026, exercising the chat interface across four models (DeepSeek V3.2, Mistral Large 3, Qwen 3 Coder, GLM 4.5 Air), the Projects feature with file uploads, the Reddit Agent setup and configuration flow, and the web search tool. Okara AI is a young product. There is no searchable help center, no community forum, no published response-time SLA, and no live chat or ticket button visible during testing. The in-app onboarding shows suggested prompts and a personalization panel, but troubleshooting paths are sparse. This is the weakest dimension and the primary risk for users who need help fast. If you hit an edge case, expect to figure it out yourself.

AI quality — 3.5 / 5

DeepSeek V3.2 handles general chat and business strategy prompts cleanly. Qwen 3 Coder is adequate for code generation. Mistral Large 3 handles research queries competently. The gap shows on complex multi-step reasoning, long-document analysis, and nuanced creative writing, where GPT-4o and Claude Opus still lead. For drafting, brainstorming, summarization, and code snippets (the bulk of solopreneur AI use), the available models deliver.

Automation — 3.5 / 5

The Reddit Agent monitors subreddits daily, finds posts that match include/exclude keywords, and generates contextual replies with configurable response length (50 to 2,000 characters) for your review before posting. It does not auto-post, which is the right default. Beyond the Reddit Agent there is no workflow builder, no scheduled tasks, no automation chaining. If you need broader automation, you stitch this to other tools manually because there is no API or webhook.

Model selection and credit system

Okara AI's core value is model aggregation. Instead of signing up for DeepSeek's chat, Mistral's API, and Zhipu AI separately, you get all of them through one interface with a shared credit pool.

The model picker displays each model's credit multiplier next to its name. During testing the available models and their costs were: DeepSeek V3.2 (default), Mistral Large 3 (0.07x), Qwen 3 Coder (0.06x), GLM 4.5 Air (0.04x), Kimi K2 (varies). The categories dropdown organizes models by task: Research (8 models), Writing (7 models), plus additional categories. You can also switch between Chat and Image generation tabs.

Model switching mid-conversation preserves context. As Daniel from Tech & Data noted in his hands-on review, the platform allows switching to GLM mid-conversation without losing context or resetting the chat. Verified during testing on the live Okara AI app.

Projects and context management

Projects are named workspaces that isolate conversations, files, and instructions for a specific goal. Each project has three panels: Instructions (custom system prompts), Files (PDFs, documents, text), and Memory (auto-saved context from conversations).

During testing we created a Q4 Product Launch project, uploaded a product brief, set custom instructions for communication style, and started a conversation using Kimi K2. The Memory panel populated automatically with key details. Subsequent chats in the same project retained context without reprompting.

Practical use: a consultant managing three clients creates three projects. Each has its own uploaded documents, tone instructions, and conversation history. No cross-contamination. This is table-stakes functionality for ChatGPT (Custom GPTs) and Claude (Projects), but Okara AI implements it cleanly across multiple model backends. You can use DeepSeek for one project and Mistral for another, with each maintaining its own context.

Reddit Agent for automated outreach

The Reddit Agent is Okara AI's most distinctive feature. It automates finding relevant Reddit posts about your product's niche and generating contextual replies for your review before posting.

Setup runs in steps. First, enter the website of the product or service you want to promote. The agent crawls the URL to understand the product. Then configure targeting: keywords to include, keywords to avoid, monitoring frequency (daily was the option during testing), email alerts toggle, and max response length (configurable between 50 and 2,000 characters).

The custom instructions panel sets tone guidelines. The default template includes: be extremely helpful and authentic, provide genuine value first, only mention your product if it is a direct and relevant solution to the specific problem the poster describes. This is the right default. Reddit communities are hostile to obvious marketing, and the agent's instruction set acknowledges that.

Once configured, it generates contextual responses encouraging people to try your product. After setup is complete, the agent continues searching for opportunities in the background.

The practical limit: you review every generated response before it goes live. The agent does not auto-post. This is a feature, not a limitation. Automated Reddit posting without review would get accounts banned quickly. The agent handles research and drafting. You handle the final review and the post.

Web search and tools

Okara AI ships a built-in web search tool accessible from the Tools menu in the chat interface. During testing we used it to surface trending discussions about productivity tools. The search returned results with source links and generated a summary across multiple sources.

The search tool pulls from live web sources and displays results inline within the chat. The model then summarizes findings with citations. This is similar to Perplexity AI's approach, but integrated within the multi-model chat context rather than as a standalone product. Additional tools visible in the interface include YouTube search (for finding and summarizing video content) and the Tools panel from the chat input bar. The Image generation tab sits alongside Chat, though we did not test image generation depth in this cycle.
